What should you eat to have gorgeous hair? Get to know these 5 tricks
You already know how to care for your hair externally. You know how to select a suitable shampoo and hair oil and you know the basic principles of hair care. How much time do you spend on maintaining a balanced diet? Correctly balanced meals are a crucial factor which is responsible for healthy and beautiful hair. What products should you include in your daily menu, and what is best avoided in order to enjoy beautiful hair? Find out what your diet should look like if you want to have gorgeous hair.
Let us start with an obvious but necessary element. As you surely know, our bodies consist mostly of water. However, you may not realise that by supplying your organism with less than 1,5 litres of fluids a day will result in your hair being in extremely poor condition. Have you got split ends? Drink about 2 litres of water for your hair to look amazing regardless of the hairstyle.
Nuts are not only a healthy and nutritious snack. They contain selenium and zinc, two very important microelements which supply the hair with nutrition from the inside. Vitamins contained in nuts (A, D, E) have a beneficial effect on the thickness and lustrousness of the hair, and restore its shine. What nuts should we go for? It’s best to mix a few different types! To enjoy stunning hair, eat hazelnuts, cashews, pecans and almonds.
Grains, especially whole grains, should be an essential part of your diet. Unprocessed grains have much more nutrients which are necessary for your hair to be healthy. Which grains should you include in your everyday menu? One of them is millet grain, which is a rich source of vitamins from group B (B1, B2 and B6). Millet also contains valuable fibre and protein. It can even be used in salads. The meals will become more filling, and your hair will be nourished from the inside.
We spend a fortune on products which are to rejuvenate our hair, and we tend to forget that the secret lies in nature, or more specifically - in nettles. The positive effect of the nettle plant on the condition of hair was discovered a long time ago. It is best used in the form of an infusion. It can also be applied directly on the hair (as rinses and shampoos). The most valuable are the young leaves, so it is best to pick nettles ourselves, rinse them in water and dry them. Nettles can also be added to soups and salads. Remember that only shoots and tips are edible.
5. Omega-3 fatty acids
Although they are necessary for the correct operation of the entire organism, we are unable to produce them ourselves. Omega-3 fatty acids find their use in the daily care of our entire body. They regenerate our hair, stimulate its growth and make it less brittle. Linseed and fish, mainly smoked fish, are both excellent sources of these fatty acids.
Now you know what you should eat, make a note of what you should avoid. These would be foodstuffs containing artificial colourings, sweeteners and any types of chemical additives. Always remember to eat products which are the least processed. If you also ensure appropriate hair care, you can be confident that your hair will be beautiful and healthy.
